A welcome Surprise

We have this grapevine wreath on our door, and a few weeks ago we discovered that some birds had made it their home. At first we thought they were just stealing twigs from the wreath, but then one day we noticed the nest hidden behind our sign. And this past week 5 tiny eggs joined the nest. They are very tiny. The children have loved keeping track of that. I’m not so sure the birds planned their new home very well, since we open and close that door at least 20 times a day. I’m so afraid we’re going to close it too hard and the eggs will fall out. Then again, I’m not sure how it’s going to work out once  they actually hatch.  I for-see angry mommy and daddy birds everytime we come close to the door.

  1. Where is the nest located? I can’t really see it in the first photo. How sweet, though, for the kids to watch this miracle of life! Keep us informed on the progress.
