Ok, I should have thought it through at the beginning, but since I didn’t I’m doing it now. If you care to keep up with what we are doing in the homeschool arena I am moving my current homeschool blog over to a blogspot blog. I will probably keep up with both for now until I decide which one I truly like better but I’m thinking I will probably post more on the one here. I feel kind of like I’m cheating on WordPress by moving, but only those of you in blog land would understand that.

Yes I feel quite accomplished today. We started the day off great with school, you can check it out here. We made homemade applesauce, I whipped up pizza for lunch, and threw together a stew for dinner and just finished baking a loaf of bread. It has been a great cooking day!

So it was one of those kind of days today. Crazy. I thought it would be fun to share the actual e-mails exchanged between Steven and I during the whole episodes. 

Steven:  ….Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnngie……whutch ya doin?  Hmmmmmmmmmmmm?Loooooove ya

 Me:  I’m just trying to SURVIVE over here.  It has been a CRAZY day. The kids have all been WACKO and If it wasn’t for fear of child services or the house burning down I would have RAN AWAY!!!

Olivia has now discovered the Toilet… lovely.

 Steven: At least it’s kinda raining outside, so if the house caught fire, it wouldn’t be a total loss……and hopefully it’ll take a while for her to discover the flush handle, then that’ll be her new garbage can <WhOOSH!!>……so there’s an upside!!! 

 Me: I’m hiding out upstairs while your two oldest are literally beating each other up and crying downstairs. Yep, it’s that kind of day, and I’m that kind of mommy.

Zoe is war crawling upstairs bawling… she is crying… “mommy, he’s being more meaner than me”

 So as you can see… Yes, it was that kind of day

 We captured this little critter this morning and I promised the kiddo’s that we would keep him until daddy got home. I’m really just hoping he survives until then. For the full story visit  here.

I was sitting down reading a book- an actual book for me- today and Zack was sitting in front of me playing with his potato head and wearing this silly paper mask. I was overtaken with a mommy moment of how sweet he can be sometimes. I just love having this little boy in my life. Almost everyday he makes me smile with some crazy new thing he has learned or new phrase he has picked up on. There is just something about little boys that I think is so endearing. Of course my girls are sweet, and of course I love them just as much, but I can’t imagine life without this little stinker.

It’s pretty funny really, Zoe is enamored with infomercials. She LOVES them, and she gets so excited while watching them, and if we don’t happen to be right there with her, she has to retell us the entire commercial. I was just sitting here on the computer and I was listening to her watch an infomercial for something that happened to be $19.99 and I hear her say “that’s too bad, it really should only be $9.99, or maybe just a dollar” Then another one came on t.v. and after it was on she ran over to tell me that I really should get this (tap) thing that goes on your feet, it makes them all nice and smooth and really healthy. “And mommy, it comes in this little bag so that everything is nice and neat”  That of course doesn’t beat the time when we were walking through Wal-Mart, and passed some space saver bags. She then had to share with me the entire 5 minute infomercial, and explained very clearly to me that it would really help the mess in my closet. Seriously, we don’t watch that much t.v. but she really does love a great infomercial.

This is amazing to me. I’m sure that the teachers that directed this had no idea what a media storm it would create in blog land. Think about the implications of this kind of indoctrination into these students lives.  If something like this ever occurred during a conservative reign of office there would have been a public outrage and the teacher would have been very publically admonished.

“I have no problem with respect for the office of president, but I’m guessing that these children will be taught nothing about the amazing things George Washington did for our country. And the school wouldn’t dream of teaching that level of adoration for one of the founding fathers.”

One of my sweet Zoe’s favorite things to do is to put things in envelopes for each of us and leave it under our pillow for us to find the next morning. Usually they have candy, stickers or some other kind of treat that she found. She stepped it up a little last night because when we went to bed we found our envelopes under our pillows and in my envelope she placed two pieces of chocolate, a bracelet and a $20.00 bill. Steven also had $20.00 as well as other things, Steven and I cracked up at this as well as wondered how she located our grocery money,  and when Zack woke up this morning his envelope contained a fruit snack and another $20.00 bill.  Steven then had to tell her she couldn’t give our money away, she asked why so he had to explain that if she gave our money away… we don’t eat!

If there is anyone out there who is remotely trying to keep up with me/us, our internet has been in and out for the past two weeks, it basically only gives me enough power to occasionally download e-mail… for someone like me this is a KILLER! I have barely known what to do with myself- Actually turns out there is a lot I can do when I’m not on the computer  Hopefully the problem will be solved in the next few days, And I’ll be back to my obsession of checking e-mail every two hours.
