I was pretty excited after going to Albertsons this morning and spending a whopping $13.31 on all these groceries. Most of them I got for free or only paid .25 for because I had coupons. Some of the things we don’t usually buy but hey- when it’s free…
I was actually hoping to do even better [...]

In an effort to get back to blogging regularly I’m joining Frugal Friday this week.
For those that have the gardening bug, or amateur’s like me, I find this helpful, especially if you DON’T have a dog that likes to dig in your gardens and eat paper. Which unfortunately our puppy does.

Start putting in your plants, [...]

It’s been about a week, since I have been near my computer to blog or even check e-mail. It’s been kind of nice to take a break, sometimes I get so caught up in reading and checking things out online that I can tend to neglect household duties. I am trying to make it a [...]

Christians – By Maya Angelou
When I say… “I am a Christian”
I’m not shouting “I’m clean livin’.”
I’m whispering “I was lost,
Now I’m found and forgiven.”
When I say… “I am a Christian”
I don’t speak of this with pride.
I’m confessing that I stumble
and need Christ to be my guide.
When I say… “I am a Christian”
I’m not trying [...]

I borrowed this tip from an e-mail I received, but I tried it and it works!
Expanding Frosting
When you buy a container of cake frosting from the store, whip it with
your mixer for a few minutes. You can double it in size. You get to
frost more cake/cupcakes with the same amount. You also eat less sugar
and [...]

We’ll it was bound to happen, one day I knew it would-it was inevitable. I just didn’t expect it to come from Zoe. This morning I was sitting in my favorite chair in the living room talking to my husband on the phone, and Zoe walks in with tears in her eyes. I asked what’s [...]

Making quiche for dinner is my fallback meal for days or weeks that we are short on money or just really busy. My tip is for the crust. I don’t always have stale bread available so I have used many other things- rice, garlic bread, potatoes, croutons. It always turns out great. Croutons and rice [...]

Today I thought I would join Tammy’s Recipies today in thier kitchen tips.
Recently a group of us gals from church has started bulk cooking together. We have met twice now, the first time several people shopped for groceries and we all met up at our church and used the kitchen to put together 8 different [...]

I know it’s not the cleanest thing but in a pinch we have had to open our vacuum bags at the top or seam, dump them and duck tape them back. We have expensive bags that have to be ordered or we have to drive a distance to track them down, so we [...]

It snowed again today, actually the weather was terrible all day with rain, sleet, hail and snow, but it finally stopped this evening. Zoe was begging to go outside and play, but both Steven and I hate to be cold so we tried to discourage her by telling her it was too cold, too wet, [...]
